What a week!!!

May 15th, 2007

my party pics.jpgThis past week has been a birthday celebration week for me and it has been fun!!! It’s not a big birthday but it has reminded me of the friends that I have around me at this time and my lovely family too :) I’ve had time with the folks in suffolk, riding in my new car with the roof off and time with my Surrey friends singing around a piano and also having a weird experiences at the ‘Great Ghurka’ which is a separate post altogether.

Anyway now I am exhausted but thankful for my buddies human and four legged who have a part in my life at the moment. I am a great one for living in the future and getting scared by it, but for this moment I am in the now.

Not sure that this post will make sense but I wanted to post it, hey is this not what blogs are for, random thoughts!!!!!!!

Go Liverpool FC!!!

May 1st, 2007

I am a Liverpool supporter who has been on the edge of her seat all night, how tense was that game with Chelsea!!!!!

‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ rings out as a smiling Rafael Benitez goes round his team to congratulate them on reaching a second Champions League final in three years. For Chelsea it is a third semi-final loss in the competition in the last four years, oh well’!!!!!

Go Stevie!!!

I own a Mazda Mx-5!!!

April 27th, 2007

Tonight I picked up my little green car and she is lovely.  It was nice to see the people that I was buying her from again and I really hope that I can continue to look after her the way that Eugene has.  My friend Phil drove her back for me and I followed and I could not believe that I own this car!!! Phil said that it drove back beautifully and that is praise from Phil.  So I look forward to a long relationship with her and now I need to give her a name, so please suggestions of a name for her would be brilliant.  I am thinking ‘Annie’ :)

Tomorrow I pick up my new car!!!

April 26th, 2007

I have driven everyone mad this week with the talk of my new car. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to own an open top sports car and this week that dream will become a reality. Tomorrow I pick up my new car, a Mazda Mx-5 1.8i ‘P’ reg in racing green. It’s lovely and it was a real blessing the way this car became mine. Last Sunday I looked at a black Mx-5 in a local garage, a red Mx-5 a bit further away (left hand drive) and a green Mx-5 which was okay but not in good condition. I decided to go and see the black one again with a close friend who knows about cars just to get that second opinion. So I went round to his house and we were all set to go and then Phil spent 5 mins looking on the internet at other Mx’s to get a comparison and he came upon the ideal car, one owner, 40,800 miles, well looked after and all the paperwork. This was the car to see. Anyway this car had only just been put on the internet and we would be the first to view. 2hrs later i had shaken hands and the car was mine. So tomorrow, thanks to Phil I pick up my new car and I cannot wait. My mum who loves open top cars is ready with her headscarf to do a ‘Thelma and Louise’ down Haverhill high street and that is scary…..

My new car!!!

Little Guy Is Home!!

April 20th, 2007

Benjie came out of ‘doggie hospital’ on Monday, it was horrible seeing him so bad and not himself and Poppy was glad to see him. Over the week he’s been improving but it is going to be a slow steady recovery. His mind wants to go running with the rabbits with Poppy but his body is not quite there….. he has done a few of his laughs this week which believe me is worth seeing, I have never seen a dog smile but Benjie does it is so cute, but I am laughing so much with him when he does this I forget to take pictures :)

He now has to be walked on a lead that goes around his tummy and can no longer have a lead connected to his collar……

Theatre Trip

April 15th, 2007

Yesterday was a wonderful sunny day, a day for sitting in the garden and relaxing but I decided to venture into London and sit on stuffy tube trains. I had booked a ticket to see ‘Dying For It’ which is currently at a wondeful intimate theatre called the ‘Almedia’ www.almeida.co.uk. The ‘Almedia’ is about 15 minutes walk from Angel tube station and located in what seems a very expensive area of London called Islington. I looked in the windows of estate agents and there was no property under the price of £625,000!!!!

The play revolves around the poverty-stricken, jobless and hapless Semyon Semyonovich Podsekalnikov (Tom Brooke) who lives with his wife and mother in law in a dilapidated and over-crowded apartment building. When his latest attempt to improve his lot by learning to play the tuba fails, he determines to end his own life.

When news of this gets out Semyon is propelled to celebrity status and a series of strangers - representing the intelligentia, the church, the state the arts and so on - visit to try to persuade him to commit his suicide in the name of their respective causes.

This was for me a great theatre experience, my seat was almost on the stage and the actors would look you straight in the eye because you were so close. It had you laughing and crying at how someone can become so famouse because he wants to kill himself. I love visiting the big theatre productions as my previous blogs show (Sound of Music) but this experience and with ticket prices of £6-15 has started a curiosty to see more smaller productions. All in all a wonderful Sat afternoon experience!!!

‘The Little Guy’

April 12th, 2007

Today Benjie the dog has had to have major surgery on a swelling around his neck :( He was in surgery for two hours tonight which is a long time. Tonight I say a little prayer for him. I know it is only an animal but anyone who knows me knows how soppy I am with the furry friends I have (see previous blogs). Benjie hates vets, normally has to be sedated when he goes there and now he has got to spend three days in there :( Get well soon ‘Little Guy’

Okay, now I’m Happy

April 11th, 2007

‘Life on Mars’ ended last night (yep I know it is sad) but it was brilliant and a great series, one I will watch again and again. play.co.uk are selling series 1 and 2 DVD set cheap and they have little extras on it so I have purchased the said items. Happy days!!!

“Sailors
Fighting in the dance hall.
Oh man!
Look at those cavemen go.
It’s the freakiest show.
Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy.
Oh man!
Wonder if he’ll ever know
He’s in the best selling show.
Is there life on Mars?”

Next count of being happy is that I am now the proud owner of an ‘Apple TV’ set box, it lets me watch what is on my laptop on my tele. For those not familiar with the Apple TV product it is a simple box, simple to use when you have read the instruction manual (note to self, I need to do this) and it looks lovely, okay I’m a girl we like colours etc.

Easter Time!!

April 6th, 2007

It’s Easter and it is a lovely day out there, sun has been shining and the weather is giving me a good excuse to put the shorts on, yeah!!! Last night I spent an evening with a good friend and was shown the delights of Apple’s new gadget the ‘Apple TV’. It lets you watch the movies in your itunes folder on your computer on the TV, wow it was great!!!! It is not a cheap toy, but it is one of those must have’s, temptation yet again for an Apple gadget…… Between Apple’s products and the Sound of Music my aim of saving up a deposit on a house is getting harder and harder. Oh this being an adult is hard work.

I have got into a TV programme called ‘Life on Mars’, images.jpgI only started watching it a few months ago and have managed to get up to date just before the last episode next Tue. I will be sitting in front of the TV that night and seeing whether my theories of how it ends is correct. I am a romantic so my main hope is that Sam (the lead actor) gets together with Annie (the WDC). But the main thing I like about this programme is the way it is taking me back to being 9yrs old as it is set in 1973 (ouch I have given my age away). It’s weird but if there is any age that I remember it is being 9yrs old so all the things they refer to I remember really well. Hearing Donny Osmond again and David Cassidy has been great and last weeks episode had Tufty the squirrel who taught me road safety at my school…. Happy days. Crikey I am sounding like a geek here going on about this programme. I do have a life really…. but come next Tuesday eve I am not going to move away from the last episode and answer any calls or texts :)

Anyway, may I wish all my friends a Happy Easter, have a great chilled out weekend. I’m off to Haverhill and my sisters caravan Sat night and hopinf to resist temptation to eat too many choccy eggs otherwise I will be frequenting Slimming world classes on a weekly basis.
